Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Volunteer Services Department at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center has been established to develop and maintain a caring, compassionate and efficient volunteer staff who offers an extra dimension of care and services to our members, their families without replacing any paid position through the Medical Center campus.
The Los Angeles Medical Center Volunteer department consists of over 200 volunteers, donating over 30,000 hours in 35 different areas of the hospital, mostly in patient care areas.
Many of our volunteers work directly with patients:
- assisting in hospital playrooms (and sometimes at the bedside)
- playing board games
- reading to children (requires 10 hours of individual training)
- answering call lights, providing patient support
- providing customer service support to our members and their families
They also work in our office environments:
- Answering Phones
- Data Entry
- Wayfinding for our members
- Information desk
