In this role, you'll be in charge of making outreach calls for the Red Cross in several areas: Wellness calls, to check in on volunteers that haven't been active in some time Diversity Outreach Calls- asking volunteers to complete the demographic information in their profiles, explaining how to do this Hours Calls- reminding volunteers how to log hours, explaining how to do it Satisfaction Survey Reminder Calls- Each year on a volunteer's anniversary with the Red Cross, we ask them to complete a survey for us. This information helps us to improve where we're lacking and celebrate our wins. Increasing number of responses is a priority for our region. You'll explain how to access the survey (it will be emailed to them, check spam/junk folder, etc.) Roster Clean-up calls- outreach to volunteers that have been inactive, trying to re-engage them into training or inactivating their profiles. Requirements: Age 18+ 4-6 hr. availability per month 6 month + Commitment Must be willing to use your own phone to make calls if working virtually Be personable, and enjoy talking on the phone with people Comfortable working with all types of people Other information:Can work virtually or in the office at 4155 Diamondhead Rd Working hours for making calls are flexible, but must be completed between 8:30am and 8pm

The Department Volunteer Recognition and Appreciation Lead oversees the development and implementation of both formal and informal department recognition efforts and promotes formal department recognition programs and events. Key Responsibilities: Promote the participation in the formal department recognition programs Develop and implement both informal and formal volunteer appreciation & recognition events and programs Support volunteer supervisors with ideas, tips, and reminders for ways to informally and formally recognize volunteers. The purpose of this position is to be on-call to provide Disaster Mental Health services to clients and community in support of an emergency evacuation shelter, or on a Disaster Action Team (DAT) event such as a house fire in case of injuries or fatalities. Key Responsibilities: The Disaster Mental Health Responder for Lanai will ensure: Disaster Mental Health services are provided to clients, Red Cross responders and the community throughout Lanai effected by a disaster event. Support and collaborate with other disaster functions before, during and after a disaster by acting as a subject matter expert. Help clients find resources to meet future mental health needs resulting from the event. Perform client casework, as needed Qualifications Must hold any level license or registration as a social worker, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychiatrist (including non-clinical licenses such as Licensed Masters Social Worker or LMSW) May be a retired mental health professional who: Meet the educational criteria for their specific profession; Held a license (any level license) from any U.S. state or territory as a social worker, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, psychiatric nurse or psychiatrist, or a certificate as a school psychologist or school counselor, within the 5 years prior to on-boarding as a Disaster Mental Health Shelter Worker; and Maintained a license or certification in good standing upon retirement and without any disciplinary action taken by the issuing U.S. state or territory licensing or certification board. Ability to be part of a team demonstrating traits of honesty, forward looking, competence, intelligence and compassion. The Disaster Mental Health Shelter Worker understands how they fit into the larger DCS and Sheltering structure and how their actions can positively influence and support the DCS Program.

This position supports the Regional Service to the Armed Forces department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This is a community-based assignment where the volunteer will utilize a quiet, private area to provide weekly virtual conversations (using phone, tablet, computer) with homebound Veterans or inpatients who are seeking to make a connection outside of their current environment and/or to provide support and communication to the Veteran’s caregiver. Volunteers will be trained and matched with veterans for 1:1 socialization. These are friendly visits with no medical or home-care duties. Qualifications: Required Must be willing to volunteer for both the Red Cross and the VA Must be able to pass the VA's background check screening process, includes finger printing at the FBI office Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually Comfortable having conversations virtually using platforms such as Zoom, Facetime, etc. or by phone Sensitive to the needs of Veterans/Caregivers in stressful situations Empathetic and compassionate listener Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality as mandated by HIPAA Must be willing to communicate regularly with the local Compassionate Contact Corps Coordinator Good people skills, excellent communication/listening skills Excellent phone proficiency such as a clear voice, good listening skills and compassion Emotionally mature, positive and service-oriented Ability to work independently Volunteer to provide own means (phone/computer) of communication Must be over the age of 18

The purpose of this position is to be on-call to provide Disaster Health Services to clients and community in support of a Disaster Action Team (DAT) event such as a house fire in case of injuries or fatalities. Key Responsibilities: The Disaster Health Services Responder for Oahu will ensure: Disaster Health Services are provided to clients, Red Cross responders and the community throughout Oahu effected by a DAT event. Support and collaborate with other disaster functions before, during and after a disaster by acting as a subject matter expert. Help clients replace medication, eye glasses, etc. lost because of the event and find resources to meet future health need. Perform client casework, as needed Time Commitment: Alpha, Charlie and Delta teams rotate being on-call. Teams are on-call for one week out of every three. During its on-call week, the team is on-duty to respond to disasters that occur 5pm to 5am Monday through Friday nights, and anytime during the weekend. During the team's on-call week, members must sign up for a minimum of two on-call shifts.
