Do you have a natural gift and interest for creating beautiful, lasting mementos to be shared by family for years to come? Is surfing Pinterest your idea of a great time, and you're looking for a way to bring all of your favorite boards into reality? Rainbow Hospice Care has an opportunity for you! We are looking for individuals with experience or interest in family history and creating beautiful, life long mementos for our Legacy Life Review program. Legacy Life Review gives hospice patients the opportunity to store and preserve their family history and life story for their surviving family and friends to share. Individuals who assist with our Life Legacy program assist our hospice patients in creating lasting mementos for their family to share. Legacy Memories may include pictures, audio and video recordings, and a written manuscript of an interview conducted by the Legacy Volunteer. We also have a selection of Memory Journals that our volunteers assist our patients in completing. Materials and training are provided by Rainbow Hospice Care. Rainbow Hospice Care is looking for individuals to provide light housekeeping tasks at our Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, WI and at the private residences of our homebound hospice patients within Jefferson County. Tasks would include: sweeping, vacuuming, wiping tables and counters, mopping, and bed making. Brighten a room with your presence, and bring peace of mind to grieving families. Providing comfort, care and meaning at the end-of-life. Love to cook? Are you an undercover Julia Child looking for a place to showcase your culinary delights? Are you a baker? Do you enjoy baking and sharing scrumptious cookies, brownies, and cakes? Rainbow Hospice Care is looking for Dietary Assistants to provide delicious meals to our hospice patients and their guests in the evenings and on weekends in our Inpatient Center located in Johnson Creek, WI. Dietary Assistants must be able to warm and plate an evening meal, take food orders, deliver and pick up food trays, wash trays, and load and unload the dishwasher as needed. While a food service background is helpful, it is not required. Anyone who loves to cook is welcome! We are looking for individuals who wish to bring joy and comfort to others with their tasty dishes! This is an evening shift from 4:30-6:30 approximately one evening a week, or more if you wish! Rainbow Hospice Care is looking for Companion Volunteers to provide companionship and other helpful support by offering friendship and socialization to individuals in the Watertown Community (individual homes, assisted living, and nursing home visits)! Companions do not provide assistance with personal cares or other Activities of Daily Living. Visit on your schedule and all training is provided! Volunteers must be warm, compassionate and friendly people who are comfortable working with a diverse group of people. Good verbal and written communication skills are needed. Volunteers use their talents to create warm, lovingly made quilts that are gifted to each hospice patient as they are admitted to the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center. These quilts provide comfort for patients and their families, making patient rooms look more welcoming and like home. Quilters meet at the Inpatient Center twice a month for approximately three hours to create these magnificent gifts. However, some quilts projects may be done at home.
