Position Title: Food Donation Driver Reports To: Lt. Cody Trimmer Purpose/Goal of Position: Support the Oceanside Corps, Community Center, in picking up food donations, from various grocery stores. The work this volunteer does makes a direct impact in the lives of many people by being part of the food pantry that provides food to those that are unable to afford it otherwise. Duties/Responsibilities: Pick ups donations from various grocery stores around Oceanside for the Food Pantry program. This position will also be moving food boxes from the truck to the building, weighing boxes and documenting weight. Truck will be provided, this person may or may not be picking up donations with a staff person. Qualifications/Skills/Certifications Needed: Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries as required and appropriate. Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and guests. Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. numerous times through out the shift. Current CA drivers license and good driving record. Clearance: This position will be required to pass a background check and undergo several on-line trainings including a driving training. Ongoing Position: Duration: Minimum of 3-6 month commitment Available Schedules: Day's: Mondays and/or Fridays. (only one day per week is required) Time: 6:30am to 11am

Assist in distributing food boxes or bags. Disassemble boxes and discard in recycle bin. Discard expired food. Assist in cleaning up and stocking pantry for next service day. Ability to stand for most of the shift. Qualifications: Able to work with public, have a heart for working with homeless and low-income individuals. Must be able to lift and carry a 20 pound food bag for distribution. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred, but not required.
