Volunteer Job Description Purpose/Goal of Position: Supporting The Salvation Army in providing services to the community by assisting with clerical and office support tasks. Sample tasks include, answering phones, data entry, answering walk in questions, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills/Certifications Needed: 1. EXCELLENT customer service skills. 2. Some clerical experience. Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Answer phones and greet clients. 2. Filing and Copying 3. Data entry 4. Special projects as assigned. 5. Position is in an office setting, great fit for someone who can sit and answer phones for an extended period of time. Ongoing Position: Length (months): Ongoing Schedule: weekdays from 9:00 am to Noon. We do ask that volunteers commit to one day of the week for a minimum of three months. # Hours per day: 3 hours per day. *Please note: we are currently not accepting community service volunteers.

Our community needs you at this time and The Salvation Army is committed to advise and guide you properly to help minimize the spread of any illness. Together, we will continue to serve our community during this pandemic. Complying with the county and in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we encourage all individuals who may be immunocompromised or in an at risk age category to not volunteer at this time. This includes those caring for individuals in these categories. For those choosing to proceed with volunteer service, please take the precautions outlined to prevent the spread of this virus. Please regularly wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, avoid touching your face, and stay home if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to the virus. We are taking precautions to keep the work area as safe as possible, such as disinfecting surfaces, changing operations to limit contact, providing staff and volunteers with gloves and other precautionary measures.

Purpose/Goal of Position: Under the direct supervision of the senior nutrition site manager, the volunteer will assist in preparing and serving well balanced meals to senior citizens. Other duties include helping to set up and clean up dining hall as well as help prep the hall for seasonal parties and on-going senior Karaoke. This is an on-going volunteer opportunity, we ask for a minimum of 3 month commitment. Shifts are Wednesdays or Fridays from 10am to noon. Ability to speak some Spanish is a plus.

**THIS IS AN ONGOING POSITION, MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE MONTHS OR MORE. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GROUPS.** POSITION TITLE: FAMILY SERVICES VOLUNTEER PURPOSE/GOAL OF POSITION: To support the Escondido Salvation Army Family Services by sorting donations. Volunteer will also be helping to weigh and sort food. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for an active volunteer role. Mus be able to lift and move 30 pound grocery boxes. 5 volunteers needed. Available Shifts: Must be available to take one shift per week. Tuesday 9 am to 3pm Wednesday 10am to 2pm Qualifications: Strong attention to detail. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of produce. Ability to be on your feet for the entire shift. Must be comfortable taking initiative. Must be available for a minimum of 1 shift per week for 3 to 6 months. At this time we are not accepting community service volunteers for this position. Du ties: Move produce boxes to sorting areas. Weigh and sort food. Move sorted food to distribution area Other miscellaneous duties as needed.
