ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

We are seeking volunteers to help us sort and distribute food to people in need in our community.

Requirements:

  1. Sort and pack canned goods and non-perishable items in the food pantry.
  2. Assist in distributing food boxes or bags.
  3. Disassemble boxes and discard in recycle bin. Discard expired food.
  4. Assist in cleaning up and stocking pantry for next service day.
  5. Ability to stand for most of the shift.

Qualifications:

  1. Able to work with public, have a heart for working with homeless and low-income individuals.
  2. Must be able to lift and carry a 20 pound food bag for distribution.
  3. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred, but not required.


Please Note: We are NOT accepting court ordered community service volunteers or volunteers under the age of 18 for this position. Please e-mail adriana.thiele@usw.salvationarmy.org for more information on community service or youth volunteer opportunities.

Shift:
Wednesday's 10am to Noon and 1pm to 3pm
