ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

We are seeking volunteer groups to help us with large food distributions once per month at our Downtown location.

Volunteers will:

  1. Sort and pack canned goods and non-perishable items in the food pantry.
  2. Help distribute food boxes or bags.
  3. Disassemble boxes and discard in recycle bin. Discard expired food.
  4. Assist in setting up and cleaning up.
Qualifications:
  1. Able to work with public, have a heart for working with homeless and low-income individuals.
  2. Must be able to lift and carry a 20 pound food bag for distribution.
  3. Ability to stand for most of the shift.
  4. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Shift Times: 8:30 am to Noon
