Volunteer in Lake County and Support Survivors of Sexual Assault! ZCenter is looking for Medical Advocates to support survivors of sexual assault in the emergency room (we serve all hospitals in Lake County). Medical Advocates offer emotional support and resources on-site to the survivor and her/his loved ones. Medical Advocates are present with the survivor throughout their time in the hospital. You will be a support before and after the medical exam and will provide resources for survivors, allowing them to be aware of all their options as they make informed decisions. Our 40-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity. We offer four trainings throughout the year. Our training covers: History of the Rape Crisis Movement Cultural Competency Components of Sexual Assault and Abuse Crisis Intervention Medical, Legal, and Support Line Advocacy Prevention Education & Community Outreach Our training is interactive and includes role plays and various presentations from professionals within the agency and in the community. You will also interact with current volunteers through our panel, where they share their volunteer experience and answer questions you may have. ZCenter Medical Advocates respond to hospitals throughout Lake County and the schedule is flexible based upon your availability. Volunteer in Lake County and support survivors of sexual assault! ZCenter is looking for Legal Advocates to support individuals who have active cases in Lake County. For more information about our Volunteer Programs & to apply to volunteer, please follow this link: http://bttr.im/ur47l Legal Advocates attend court events for clients, allowing the client to stay updated and aware of what is happening with their court case without having to attend. Legal Advocates are also available to accompany a client in court if they choose to attend or are required to appear. Legal experience is not required for this volunteer opportunity- our Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity. Our Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training covers: History of the Rape Crisis Movement Cultural Competency Components of Sexual Assault and Abuse Crisis Intervention Medical, Legal, and Support Line Advocacy Prevention Education & Community Outreach Our training is interactive and includes role plays and various presentations from professionals within the agency and in the community. There are a variety of opportunities and we need individuals who are bilingual to join us! Our opportunities range from administrative work and helping with special events to working on our 24/7 Support Line and as a Medical Advocate. Our 40-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity. We offer four trainings throughout the year. Volunteer over the phone and support survivors of sexual assault! ZCenter is looking for volunteers to support individuals who call into our 24/7 Support Line. Support Line Advocates offer emotional support and resources to callers over our Support Line. We receive calls from professionals, survivors of sexual assault, and significant others of survivors who are looking for support and information. Focusing on healthy coping skills, education, and providing resources, Support Line Advocates provide crisis intervention, resources, and support to individuals who reach out to us over the phone. Our Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity. We offer four trainings throughout the year. Our training covers: History of the Rape Crisis Movement Cultural Competency Components of Sexual Assault and Abuse Crisis Intervention Medical, Legal, and Support Line Advocacy Prevention Education & Community Outreach Our training is interactive and includes role plays and various presentations from professionals within the agency and in the community. You will also interact with current volunteers through our panel, where they share their volunteer experience and answer questions you may have. ZCenter Support Line Advocates do not have to report to a concrete location because they respond to calls coming in to their cell phone through our answering service.
