ZCenter is dedicated to serving survivors of sexual assault/abuse and educating our community. Join us in coming alongside survivors of sexual assault on their journey toward healing. There are a variety of opportunities and we need individuals who are bilingual to join us! Our opportunities range from administrative work and helping with special events to working on our 24/7 Support Line and as a Medical Advocate.
Our 40-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity. We offer four trainings throughout the year. Our training covers:
- History of the Rape Crisis Movement
- Cultural Competency
- Components of Sexual Assault and Abuse
- Crisis Intervention
- Medical, Legal, and Support Line Advocacy
- Prevention Education & Community Outreach
Our training is interactive and includes role plays and various presentations from professionals within the agency and in the community. You will also interact with current volunteers through our panel, where they share their volunteer experience and answer questions you may have.
While there are a variety of volunteer opportunities, our largest need for bilingual advocates is with our Support Line and Medical Advocacy.
Medical Advocacy:
- Respond to local hospitals and police departments when a sexual assault survivor is present
- Provide emotional support
- Provide survivor with information on community resources
Support Line Advocacy:
- Respond to Support Lines calls when an individual calls in
- Provide emotional support
- Provide information to survivors and their significant others

Description
Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center seeks to provide quality, comprehensive, client-centered services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse. These services are provided in partnership with the survivor in the spirit of equality, free from judgment or oppression.
We believe that the women, men, and children we serve are entitled to respect, accessible services, privacy, empowerment, and advocacy.
ZCenter’s services are free and are available to all survivors regardless of race, gender, language, ability, sexual orientation, or religion.
ZCenter seeks to be an active presence in the community to speak up in support of and in partnership with all survivors of sexual violence. ZCenter provides services to the community at large and to other professionals and service providers to enhance the understanding of the impact of sexual violence on everyone.
