Volunteer in Lake County and support survivors of sexual assault! ZCenter is looking for Legal Advocates to support individuals who have active cases in Lake County. For more information about our Volunteer Programs & to apply to volunteer, please follow this link: http://bttr.im/ur47l
Legal Advocates attend court events for clients, allowing the client to stay updated and aware of what is happening with their court case without having to attend. Legal Advocates are also available to accompany a client in court if they choose to attend or are required to appear. Legal experience is not required for this volunteer opportunity-our Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training will equip you with the tools and resources you need for this opportunity.
Our Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training covers:
- History of the Rape Crisis Movement
- Cultural Competency
- Components of Sexual Assault and Abuse
- Crisis Intervention
- Medical, Legal, and Support Line Advocacy
- Prevention Education & Community Outreach
Our training is interactive and includes role plays and various presentations from professionals within the agency and in the community. You will also interact with current volunteers through our panel, where they share their volunteer experience and answer questions you may have.
