STAIR-Annapolis, Start The Adventure In Reading, is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public School first and second grade students reading below grade level. Tutors work one-on-one with a student for an hour-long session, and we offer our volunteers the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week, or as a substitute on an as-needed basis. STAIR-Annapolis has a site at Four Season Elementary in Gambrills, Severn and Van Bokkelen Elementary in Severn. Please contact volunteer_coordinator@stairannapolis.org for more information. We will offer a short 45 minute information session on June 10th at 2:30 at the Michael Busch Annapolis Library, 1410 West Street. This wil be an overview of the STAIR program and we will also schedule more dates throughout the summer. Please RSVP to learn more about our program. There will also be a required one-and a half hour curriculum training following the information session that will be scheduled at various dates beginning in August. Stair-Annapolis at Tracey's Elementary STAIR is held Monday and Thursday from 2:30-3:45. We are in need of tutors and substitute tutors, for our Tracey's site and for our Lothian site that meets on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:45.
