Start The Adventure In Reading (STAIR-Annapolis) is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public School second graders currently reading below grade level. STAIR is looking for tutors to work one on one with students at our Annapolis sites and to choose a location that is most convenient for you. Substitute tutors work with a student for an hour 15 minute-long session on days when the child's regular tutor is sick or on vacation. The Site leaders will text and ask for availability and substitutes can accept or decline. We offer our new Tutors the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week or as a substitute. STAIR also offers a comprehensive 2 hour training program for all tutors and use an educator approved curriculum. I will be offering a 2 hour training and information session for New Tutors and Site Coordinators on January 9th, from 11:30-1:30 at the Michael Busch Library on west Street.
