Start The Adventure In Reading (STAIR-Annapolis) is a twice-weekly, after school literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public Schools second grade students reading below grade level. Tutors work one-on-one with a student for an hour-long session, and we offer our volunteers the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week, or as a substitute on an as-needed basis. We have 12 sites conveniently located at elementary schools and community centers across Annapolis and throughout Anne Arundel County, and have more than 100 children enrolled in our program. For more information on how to become a STAIR tutor, contact volunteer_coordinator@stairannapolis.org, or visit our website at https://stairannapolis.org/volunteer/application/
