Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd. This is a quick video about us! **We are looking to add people for several different shifts, especially weekend rotations.** Even if we can't use you right now, we'd love to have you come meet us and learn about volunteering! Options for volunteering can open unexpectedly, so please reach out if you are interested in volunteering. Our ONLY location is at the Downers Grove PetSmart, 1550 Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove IL. This is the only location where volunteering of this type will take place. If you cannot come out to this location, we hope you will find an organization near your home that you can volunteer with instead. Please know that as a small organization, our volunteer slots can fill up quickly, so please still reach out if you are interested to see where we might use you! C.A.R. is looking for volunteers ( 21 years old or older, please) to be placed on a set schedule to help during the day, in the evenings, on weekends. Schedules are flexible, but are typically on a set rotating schedule. Duties will include scooping liter boxes, cleaning the adoption area, monitoring & noting cat behavior, socializing the cats in our care, and medicating cats when necessary. Even if you can only volunteer a few hours every couple weeks or once a month, we would love to have you! NOTE: We are NOT able to accommodate those who need a specific number of volunteer hours (such as court-ordered community service or to fulfill school obligations) with this opportunity. Please check out our virtual options if that is something you need fulfilled. We are almost always looking for volunteers, even if your commitment can only be a few hours a month, but you need to be able to commit to a schedule and keep it indefinitely. Volunteers must also be at least 21 years old. Please respond to this posting and keep an eye out for an email from fundraising@chicagolandanimalrescue.org. Thank you! We also would appreciate volunteers to occasionally help with vet transport, volunteer transport, and other tasks as they come up. Virtual Opportunity
Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd. Join us for an on-your-own-time, fun virtual opportunity! Perfect for students who need service hours, too! If you are a crafty person, we can always use your skills to make carrier pads, cat/dog beds, toys for the cats in our rescue (and to send home with them when they are adopted!), crafts & handmade items for our fundraising sales, enrichment items for the cats in our care, or maybe you have a great talent we haven’t thought of using yet! In addition, any funds earned from sales of donated items will be used to care for our existing cats and pay our vet bill, and this allows us to continue rescuing felines in need. If you have any experience with fundraising, or would like to help us generate ideas, please contact us - we'll be glad to have your input! Please visit our website, or ask any of our volunteers or adoption counselors if you have questions. Donations of various kinds are always accepted, including: food for foster cats, toys (no hazardous/swallow-possible parts please), crates, carriers (hard sided and/or top loaders preferred), etc. We are in need of cleaning supplies as well (including items like: paper towels, dish soap/cleaners, bleach, sponges, various cleaning supplies, etc.). We are in need of foster homes to help prepare the cats in our rescue for adoption. We will set you up with the supplies and everything you need to care for the cats, cover all any needed vet appointments or costs...all you need is a quiet, separate space, and some love to share! Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd. This is a quick video about us! Chicagoland Animal Rescue NFP is looking for people to sign up to be a foster home, so when a cat in need is taken into our group, they have a place to decompress and be evaluated before going to our space at PetSmart or being ready for forever homes! Ideally, you should have some experience with cats, including medication, nail trims, and socializing, but we are willing to consider people who have not had a cat before as well. Foster parents must be 21 years or older only, and all members of the household must be on board with fostering and understand the expectations for doing so. Please fill out the fostering application here. Once you contact us, please keep an eye out for a follow up email from fundraising@chicagolandanimalrescue.org (and check your spam folder, too!) within about 24 hours. If you would like more information before filling out the application, please reach out to fundraising@chicagolandanimalrescue.org with your questions. Our ONLY physical location is at the Downers Grove PetSmart, 1550 Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove IL. However, our foster homes should be within a 30-minute distance of the Lombard area (as this is where our veterinarian is located). Virtual Opportunity
We are looking to add volunteers to help with writing projects such as the newsletter, social media, educational materials, and fundraising. Potential projects include: quarterly digital newsletter, updating & creating flyers/posters/promotions (print and digital), creating videos for adoptable cats or for special events, creating social media content, updating & adding new informational handouts about proper cat care, fundraising projects, grant writing, etc. We can work with your skills and schedule, and this can be a great way to add to your community service hours for college students, too! We would love to find a way to incorporate YOUR skills, so if you have ideas that we haven't though of yet, please do reach out! We'd love to chat and find a way to have you join our group!
