Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd.
We are looking to immediately add foster homes to our volunteer corp. As we are assisting the community with the loss of ability to keep or care for pets, we are in need of on call and regular foster homes to help prepare the cats for adoption!
Chicagoland Animal Rescue NFP is looking for people to sign up to be a foster home, so when a cat in need is taken into our group, they have a place to decompress and be evaluated before going to our space at PetSmart. Ideally, you should have some experience with cats, including medication, nail trims, and socializing, but we are willing to consider people who have not had a cat before as well. Foster parents must be 21 years or older only, and all members of the family must be on board with fostering and understand the expectations for doing so. Please fill out the fostering application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/CLND/Cat.
Our ONLY physical location is at the Downers Grove PetSmart, 1550 Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove IL. However, our foster homes must be within a 30-minute distance of the Lombard area (as this is where our veterinarian is located).
If you are unable to volunteer or foster, follow us on social media and share our adoptable cats. Please also consider making a donation to help support cats in need! https://checkout.shelterluv.com/donate/clnd About Us: https://youtu.be/pXjboUHOy58
We are an all-volunteer foster home rescue. We rescue abandoned, homeless, and unwanted cats from DuPage County Animal Services.
We seek out the cats that need a 'second chance,' often due to no fault of their own. We strive to do the best possible adoptions for both the prospective person/family as well as the cat, and will help you make the best possible decision for your situation. We understand that the adoption process is a thoughtful one, and encourage you to take your time to find your best feline friend.
Our cats are examined by a veterinarian, blood tested, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and parasite tested/treated. Adopters are provided with medical records, a rabies certificate, and information to help introduce the cat to their home. We also provide information about the cat that we have learned through foster and daily interaction by our volunteers.
We'll work with your schedule.
This is a Virtual Opportunity with no fixed address.

Based on the evolving COVID situation in our country, fostering commitment may be as short as a month or as long as six months; it will depend on the vetting needs of the cat(s) & the needs of the foster home.
ALL members of the household must be on board, understand the policies and rules of our organization, and abide by them. We will do our best to match your needs & wants with ours!
