Chicaogland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd.

**We are looking to add some on-call or as-needed volunteers to our core group, but do not have a regular shift open at this time.** Our ONLY location is at the Downers Grove PetSmart, 1550 Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove IL. This is the ONLY location where volunteering of this type will take place. If you cannot come out to this location, we hope you will find an organization near your home that you can volunteer with instead.

C.A.R. is looking for volunteers (21 years old or older, please) to be placed on a set schedule to help during the day, in the evenings, on weekends. Schedules are flexible, but are typically on a set rotating schedule. Duties will include scooping liter boxes, cleaning the adoption area, monitoring & noting cat behavior, socializing the cats in our care, and medicating cats when necessary. Even if you can only volunteer a few hours every couple weeks or once a month, we would love to have you! Please visit our space at the Downers Grove PetSmart and talk to an adoption counselor (Saturdays & Sundays from 12pm-3pm)to get more information on shifts we’re looking to fill and to complete a volunteer application. NOTE: We are NOT able to accommodate those who need a specific number of volunteer hours (such as court-ordered community service) at this time.

We are almost always looking for volunteers, even if your commitment can only be a few hours a month, but you need to be able to commit to a schedule and keep it indefinitely. Volunteers must also be at least 21 years old. Please check your inbox for an email from fundraising@chicagolandanimalrescue.org once you complete this interest. We will NOT call to follow up - email communication is important for our group. Thank you!

Please send us an e-mail or stop by PetSmart during adoption hours (Downers Grove, at Finley & Butterfield) if you are willing to lend a hand and to find out more information. We also would appreciate volunteers to occasionally help with vet transport, volunteer transport, and other tasks as they come up. Spending time with these precious cats is one of the most gracious things you could do!

Mission Statement

We are an all-volunteer foster home rescue. We rescue abandoned, homeless, and unwanted cats from DuPage County Animal Services.

Description

We seek out the cats that need a 'second chance,' often due to no fault of their own. We strive to do the best possible adoptions for both the prospective person/family as well as the cat, and will help you make the best possible decision for your situation. We understand that the adoption process is a thoughtful one, and encourage you to take your time to find your best feline friend.

Our cats are examined by a veterinarian, blood tested, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and parasite tested/treated. Adopters are provided with medical records, a rabies certificate, and information to help introduce the cat to their home. We also provide information about the cat that we have learned through foster and daily interaction by our volunteers.
