Volunteer in Albufeira, Portugal and support Dolphin & Whale Conservation and Research whilst exploring the scenic Algarve coastline. You will gain an insight into dolphin research, learn about different research instruments and techniques, study and learn about cetaceans and other marine species and gain awareness about their conservation. Below are some of the activities you can expect to be involved with as a marine conservation volunteer in Portugal; For every cetacean group we encounter, we collect a range of biological, ecological and environmental data. Volunteers will get to see several species of cetaceans, sharks, sea turtles and marine birds found in the South of Portugal (please note not all sightings are guaranteed due to local weather conditions) Learn to identify and interpret cetacean behaviour and social composition Increase your pool of knowledge through theoretical lectures and fieldwork training from experienced researchers Learn about and use several of the most frequently used techniques and methodologies to study cetaceans Learn about data collection, photo analysis (photo-id) and techniques in underwater and aerial videos, and more

This internship is a great opportunity to gain work experience with an organisation dedicated to arranging volunteer placements abroad in the wildlife conservation, environmental and development sectors. Opportunities exist to work on: -Writing content for new website redevelopment -NGO and Volunteer Organisation research -Digital Marketing and communications -Researching and communicating with academic institutions, press contacts, online communities and so on Requirements: Ideally we are seeking someone with excellent writing and IT/Internet skills to help us with all aspects of communications, marketing and web presence for WorkingAbroad.com. We are currently redeveloping our website and are particularly looking for an intern to help with content writing and research. In addition, we may require the Intern to research and communicate with academic institutions, press & PR contacts, online communities, wildlife conservation and environmental groups, as well as NGOs & volunteering abroad organisations, to spread awareness of our latest news articles and press releases, our online volunteering database and our volunteer programmes around the world. If you have a University degree (or are currently studying) that is an added bonus. We also require fluency in English with excellent writing skills. Lastly, as this position requires you to work from home - on your own computer - we need an intern that can work independently and who is self-motivated. This position is open to residents of any country, we will provide all training and guidance by email/Skype. However it is a bonus if you live in the UK (as it would be good to have an occasional in-person meeting as well). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to gain experience in the domain of conservation/social work and to learn about how international volunteer organisations are run - and who is looking for an internship position such as this to boost their CV. The internship is a non-salaried position. Flexibility with days, but ideally at least 10 hours a week. Become a Caribbean Reef Buddy volunteer and join us on the beautiful island of Carriacou near Grenada. Learn to dive in the warm, crystal clear waters of the Caribbean and play a full and active part in exciting marine conservation projects. By choosing to join Caribbean Reef Buddy you will be undertaking the following: PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water dive courses. Speciality training in digital underwater photography. Speciality courses in coral and fish identification. Lionfish containment, including hunting, analysis and data collection. Speciality training in reef survey protocols. Training in equipment maintenance. You can volunteer with Caribbean Reef Buddy for 2 to 4 weeks from June to August every year. Individuals, groups and students conducting research projects are all welcome.
