Reporting to and in partnership with both the Executive Director and Board of Directors, Marketing Specialist will be responsible for marketing efforts in order to effectively help increase Central Virginia Horse Rescue (CVHR) fundraising and community awareness. This is a new volunteer position within the organization. Responsibilities Responsible for creating, implementing, evaluating, and revising ongoing social media campaigns to promote Volunteer opportunities, Horse Sponsorship opportunities, Foster Care opportunities, Donation Drives, Fundraisers, Adoptions Outreach, Community Outreach Events, Online Promotions and Marketing. The ability to enhance and incorporate our Website and work collaboratively with our Board of Directors Creating monthly email newsletter sent out to CVHR supporters. Work with Executive Director to create and publish bi-annual printed newsletter distributed locally and to CVHR supporters via mail. Work with marketing team to create marketing videos for adoptable horses. Work with marketing team to create attractive adoption posts for adoptable horses. Manage content across CVHR’s multiple social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, Patreon and YouTube. Coordinate with Executive Director to find new ways to promote CVHR and establish community awareness. Qualifications Minimum 1 experience 1 year. Must embrace the mission of Central Virginia Horse Rescue Knowledge of Canva design website and app. Demonstrate excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills Possess the skills to work with and motivate board members and other volunteers. Be organized and exhibit "follow through" on tasks and goals. Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability. Experience in social media and digital marketing. An understanding and knowledge of horses and appropriate terminology. Creativity, positive attitude, team-player approach, pro-active self-starter a must. Creative photography and videography a must.

POSITION SUMMARY The Central Virginia Horse Rescue Summer Horse Camp is a dynamic program that establishes development of young equestrians through a balanced approach of equine education, horse care, and riding. Week-long horse camps are designed for entry level students who love horses and want to build their skills and confidence. The CVHR volunteers and Horse Camp Counselors work as part of a collaborative, supportive and professional team to offer horsemanship skills such as grooming, tacking, and mucking, as well as horse-theme arts and crafts. Additional curriculum focuses on horse history, anatomy, and natural horsemanship. In addition, this role will assist our Barn Manager with care for our horses. This is a non riding position. Instructors are responsible for creatively adapting and delivering dynamic horsemanship-based curriculum to small groups of youth. Additional activities may include games, crafts, animal care, and wilderness skills. Rapport-building between students and instructors is a key aspect of this position. Instructors will cultivate a sense of curiosity and discovery of the equine world through inquiry-based teaching, hands-on lessons, animal interactions, and exploration. Instructors will model enthusiasm for all aspects of nature and weather conditions and consistently incorporate themes of stewardship, gratitude, and wonder. Horse instructors work as part of a dynamic and collaborative team as well as teach classes independently. This position reports to the Barn Manager and Executive Director. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop a core curriculum for the summer horse camp Teach horse camps according to the key program values and curriculum overview Maintain prompt and professional email communication with CVHR administration, proactively communicating any issues which may arise Take responsibility for the safety, education and happiness of all participants in your camp Encourage respect between participants, as well as respect for the CVHR animals, equipment, and facilities Ensure appropriate and safe behavior for all participants Demonstrate impeccable time management and reliably arrive to the farm on time as well prep before classes, clean up afterwards, and care for equipment, supplies and facilities. Able to hold boundaries with students and comfortable upholding consequences when necessary with priority for positive-discipline based approaches. REQUIREMENTS At least 2 years experience as camp counselor, outdoor educator, riding instructor, or related field preferred For those interested in teaching horseback riding lessons specifically: At least 2 years experience teaching safe and engaging beginner horseback riding Pony Club experience looked upon favorably within the past 5 years. Natural horsemanship background/approach a plus Able to interact with horses independently and confidently. Ability to independently groom and tack horses and confidently manage student’s interactions with horses in a group setting. Knowledge of english and western tack (we predominantly use western) Ability to patiently and positively mentor youth from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and experiences Willing to work outside in all weather Able to maintain clean, organized workspaces Ability to improvise, be creative, proactive and flexible, with a strong back pocket of games and activities Thrive in professional environment with minimal supervision Ability to lead curriculum, activities, games and projects as assigned, and to follow a strict daily timetable Committed to being a solution-oriented, self-motivated community member in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere Be a model of kindness, flexibility and professionalism Able to check and respond to email communications within 24 business hours Current First Aid and CPR training a plus

This is a new volunteer position within the organization. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create a fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization Plan and execute Central Virginia Horse Rescue’s annual fundraising plan Develop a major gifts program and a planned giving program Raise funds for the annual fund grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements Create annual fundraising newsletter Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to organize special events Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising Plan and oversee annual Giving Tuesday event Develop and oversee the execution of virtual fundraising events Publish regular email updates to supporters Collaborate with team to maintain current information on Central VA Horse Rescue websites Qualifications Minimum 1 experience 1 year. Responsible for overseeing daily farm operations to ensure safe operations. Responsibilities include: * Meet regularly with the Program Director to determine urgent operational needs or overall procedures at the farm. * Coordinate with other volunteers for assistance with fencing needs and general repairs around the barns. * Monitor farm equipment to ensure that it is serviced and maintained for maximum operational effectiveness. * Install donated or purchased equipment as needed around the farm (e.g., Wi-fi cameras, solar-powered lights, etc.) * Complete minor electrical or plumbing work as capable around the farm. Help to schedule professional companies for work as needed. * Communicate with volunteers as needed for training on using specific machinery (e.g., starting the Kubota in the winter.) * Interact regularly with the Program Director, Barn Manager, Volunteer Horse Trainers and Volunteer Coordinators to ensure that everyone understands current priorities and works toward the same goals and overarching tasks.

We are looking for an experienced Event coordinator to organize fun and exciting fundraising events. You will be responsible for every aspect of an event, from choosing venues to evaluating success afterwards. An event coordinator must be well-organized and competent in event planning. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Add a shot of enthusiasm and passion for the job and you’ll be our ideal candidate. The goal is to organize unforgettable events that will ensure the entertainment of participants and facilitate the completion of fundraising objectives. This is a volunteer position with an expected average number of hours weekly as 10. We have an opening for 3 event coordinators who will be responsible for working with the entire team. Duties and responsibilities include: Coordinate with the Special Events Board member and Executive Director to plan and organize a minimum of 6 fundraising events annually. Develop a complete understanding of the requirements for every event. Develop a budget for each event based on fundraising goals. Plan event with attention to financial and time commitments while staying within the event budget. Book venues and research vendors to choose the best combination of quality and cost. Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms. Manage all event operations (set up, tear down, invitations, etc) Do final checks the day of the event. Oversee event happenings and respond to problems quickly. Evaluate the events success and submit reports to the Executive Director and CVHR Board of Directors Develop content for event materials and work with graphic designers to produce quality advertising and marketing.
