About Us: We are a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, students and community members with lived experience committed to providing medical care to individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations. Our Street Medicine Outreach program delivers vital healthcare services directly to those who need it most, wherever they may be. Position Overview: As a Volunteer Physician Assistant with our Street Medicine Outreach team, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and comprehensive medical care to individuals living on the streets. You will work alongside other healthcare professionals to deliver services such as basic medical assessments, wound care, vaccinations, and referrals to additional resources. Responsibilities: Conduct medical assessments and provide treatment to patients during street outreach events. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care. Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Provide health education and preventive care services to promote overall wellness. Assist with medication management, including prescribing medications and monitoring adherence. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge. Qualifications: Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) with current certification. Experience working in primary care, urgent care, or a similar clinical setting. Compassionate and nonjudgmental approach to working with underserved populations. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Willingness to provide care in non-traditional settings, including outdoor environments and shelters.
