Coordinate annual events ensuring events are run smoothly. This committee focuses on events that will highlight the great work of WERC and raise funds to support WERC’s programming. Duties of those volunteering for this committee include: * Secure sponsorships, donations and raffle items. * Collaborate with Marketing Committee to design invitation, promotional materials, and social media to publicize events. * Send out invitations and manage RSVP list. * Select menu, decorations, plan layout of seating, vendors, sponsors as necessary. * Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met. * Coordinate day of event logistics, including registration, attendee tracking, presentations, projectors, computers, other display materials, and recruit additional volunteers to manage the day of the event.

Share WERC’s mission with employers and relevant community associations to encourage collaboration and partnership opportunities that will result in placement of WERC graduates, implementation of mentoring programs, and increase in financial support from employers. Responsibilities: Work with committee members to develop, schedule and implement employer group presentations throughout the year (3 per year). Keep current the "Getting to Know Work" presentation that can be used by this committee to accomplish its goals. Build the list of potential employers and community donors to include those companies that are not yet aware of our services/mission. Work with the Executive Director and Training Staff to continually identify new employers and further develop partnerships with current employers. Qualifications: Knowledge of employer base in the Capital District as it applies to hiring of staff and contribution programs; Ability to reach out to employers via meetings or phone calls to make them aware of WERC’s programs and employment opportunities. An understanding of and deep passion for the mission of WERC; A strong and effective communicator, with the ability to speak before groups; A belief that team work and collaboration are effective ways of getting things done; A creative thinker; Is flexible; Doesn’t mind doing some work in-between committee meetings; and (most importantly) Likes to have fun Time Commitment: Monthly committee meetings (typically held via conference call, one hour in duration) Independent work including speaking with employers on an individual basis (approximately 2-5 hours per month Attend major CDWERC events including First Impression and Awards Luncheon

As a member of the Women's Fund Committee, you would assist in support and outreach of The Women’s Fund vision and mission, including awarding of scholarships to women attending Hudson Valley Community College(HVCC) and Schenectady County Community College(SCCC). Activities include organizing the Trailblazers Luncheon fundraising event, developing other fundraising initiatives and maintaining connections with scholarship entities. Responsibilities: Event Planning for the Trailblazers luncheon (held in March), including all planning activities and the day of the event. Working with HVCC and SCCC to ensure scholarship administration meets Women’s Fund goals. Assisting with Women’s Fund publicity through our website and Facebook page. Helping with other activities, which could include "Get to Know Us" events. Skills/Qualifications: Interest in performing a wide variety of tasks such as: event planning, sponsor recruitment/solicitation, fund raising, graphic design, photography, videography, brainstorming, marketing; Understanding of and deep passion for empowering women - a key tenet to the missions of WERC and the Women’s Fund; Strong and effective communication skills; Ability to build connections - with funders/donors, schools Strong team work & collaboration skills - with the belief that team work and collaboration are effective ways of getting things done; Flexibility; Ability to work on/follow-through on tasks in-between committee meetings; Like to have fun. Time Commitment: Monthly committee meetings, in person at WERC’s Troy office OR via teleconference/videoconference: Typically 1-1.5 hours in duration; Independent work outside of committee meetings, approximately 1-2 hours per month; Attend major Women’s Fund and WERC events, including Trailblazers (March), First Impressions Second Chances (June) and annual awards luncheon (October).

As a member of the Grants Committee you will collaborates with other committee members to research, apply for, and receive grant funding to support WERC programming. Responsibilities: Researching grant opportunities; Contacting grant funders for grant program information; Working with the committee to prioritize grant funding options and determine grants to pursue; Writing and submitting applications; Helping the Executive Director with submitting final reports to funders that have given WERC a grant award. Qualifications: Interest in researching grant opportunities to identify additional funding sources; Strong writing skills; Understanding of and deep passion for the mission of WERC; Strong and effective communication skills; Belief that team work and collaboration are effective ways of getting things done; Flexibility; Ability to do some work in-between committee meetings; and (most importantly) Like to have fun. Time Commitment: Monthly committee meetings, typically held via conference call, and one hour in duration; Independent work performing research and completing grants, approximately 2-5 hours per month; Attend major WERC events, including First Impressions Second Chances, Trailblazers Awards Luncheon and the Annual Celebration.

Summary: This committee will review, develop, and initiate programs that will help WERC reach and serve more women who are in need of training and/or professional development to find employment and achieve success. Responsibilities: The committee will work with the WERC staff to: *Review the current programs, classes and training to determine if further expansion of programs, or resources are needed. Including: identifying partners and volunteers to deliver training and/or professional development programs either virtually or eventually in person. *As a priority, develop and maintain a computer/laptop loan program to meet the needs of identified students. *Explore various options for delivery of the programs current or new to successfully reach more women. Including, expanding programs onsite and virtually. *Reach out to the community (organizations that have supported WERC as well as identifying new organizations) for support, both financial and tangible equipment, supplies and tech support. *Develop and expand the Mentorship and Ambassador programs that support current students and graduates. *Determine the costs/benefits of current as well as new potential training classes and programs; collaborate with the Grants Committee to identify sufficient funding.
