The Client Casework Associate plays an integral part in providing good customer service to the community members affected by a disaster. Red Cross extends aid in an equitable and impartial manner without regard to economic status, racial, religious, political, or ethnic affiliations. Responsibilities: 1. Assist with the creation and input of disaster cases. 2. Conduct initial interview and/or follow up with clients. 3.Review cases and data entry with attention to detail. 4. Assist with client surveys. 5. Assist with other projects as assigned. Time Commitment: Flexible Qualifications: *Awareness, understanding of Red Cross Fundamental Principles and roles during a disaster. *Education background can be High School diploma/equivalent or higher. Do you like helping people and saving lives? As a Donor Ambassador to help provide professional customer service in a medical setting to make blood donors feel inspired to return. Bring your welcoming smile to help save lives--support the American Red Cross blood program as a Donor Screener! Provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience, executing donor temperature screening on potential donors prior to their entry into the blood drive. Blood drives are held throughout San Bernardino County. Volunteer hours accumulated can be used to satisfy applicable class prerequisites, strengthen your skills, learn new skills, or potentially lead to a recommendation letter resource. Key Responsibilities: This position and Temp-taking screening station is part of additional screening the American Red Cross has implemented in the interest of the safety of the blood supply, recipients, other donors, staff, volunteers, and general public health regarding COVID-2019 outbreaks. Greet donors and model excellent customer service behaviors. Manage donor flow at temp taking the station to ensure only donors passing temp screen are permitted access. Explain the purpose of temperature screen to donors and ensure they understand the reason for deferral if applicable. Direct donor to next step of donation or options for future donations if deferred. Blood Donor Screeners will: Use the following supplies -thermometer and probe covers, if applicable -trash basket -gloves -hand sanitizer -Sani-cloths or Cavi-cide Wear gloves at all times and change them between each donor. Use a new probe cover on an electronic thermometer or a new disposable thermometer for each donor. Will not repeat temperatures for any reason. Will insert the thermometer into the donor's mouth, hold the probe, read the temperature, and discard the probe cover or the disposable thermometer. Check to see if the donor's temperature is acceptable. Advise the donor if above 99.5 degrees F to defer from donating on the current day. Will clean the electronic thermometer, probe, and probe wiring between each person with Sani-cloth or Cavi-cide. Licensed healthcare professionals are needed! Are you a licensed healthcare professional? If so, we also have a high need for health care workers to provide assistance and healthcare to shelter residents. With predictions for a very active hurricane and wildfire season, disaster victims need your expert care and comfort. Training is free and CE credit is available. For those able to travel outside of their local area, a commitment of at least 10 consecutive days, with shifts of 8 or 12 hours each (we'll cover travel, food, and accommodations) OR stay local. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 4, 8 or 12 hours each. Licensed Required: RN, LPN, LVN, EMT, Paramedic, MD, DO, PA, NP, APRN. It’s the hardest job you will ever love! Key Responsibilities: Disaster Health Services Supervisor (IDC/DHS/SV). Lead team of licensed healthcare professionals Act as liaison for DHS team with the shelter manager Assist DHS service associates with documentation and data gathering (including C-MIST interview). Communicate access and functional needs of clients to shelter manager Provide hands-on care as necessary, including assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, incontinence care, health assessments, health education, and determination that a higher level of care is needed for the client Observation and health screening for COVID-19 like illness for all shelter clients daily Lead the management of a shelter isolation care area. Complete required virtual self-paced and instructor-led training for the position (29 hours total) Key Responsibilities: Disaster Health Services Service Associate (IDC/DHS/SA). Provide hands-on care for shelter clients to include but not limited to assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, incontinence care, and assistance with functional needs. Provide health education, health assessments, and determination if a higher level of care is needed. Assist clients to replace medications, durable medical equipment, or consumable medical supplies. Advocate for client needs with the Disaster Health Services supervisor. Support maternal and child needs as necessary. Complete required virtual self-paced and instructor-led training required for the position (9 hours total).
