Solace Hospice is seeking Volunteers in the West Valley to make a difference in the lives of our patients. This is an opportunity for anyone in the Surprise, Sun City, Sun City West, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, or Peoria area. Our patients are comforted by our volunteers presence alone. It doesn't take much to impact their lives. They are thrilled just by knowing someone truly cares. Volunteers are friendly visitors who offer companionship by visiting with a patient. Volunteers can read, watch TV or movies, listen to music, play cards or games, work crossword puzzles or word search, or they can just chat about current events or reminisce about days gone by. Volunteers bring a special type of comfort to our seniors by coming in with no agenda other than being a friendly presence. They comfort, love and encourage. Solace Hospice will provide the training, and you as the volunteer will provide the companionship and the heart to brighten their day.

Veterans Serving Veterans Solace Hospice would like to offer a unique opportunity for you to serve another Veteran. As a Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer , you will offer your friendship and time to a Veteran hospice patient located across Maricopa County. No one can communicate to with another Veteran quite like another military veteran or active-duty personnel. Veterans will share things with other veterans that they don't share with anyone else, even family. Veterans are part of a distinct culture with their own common language and experience. Few people have had similar experiences except other veterans. At Solace Hospice we have an ever-growing need for volunteers who have a couple of hours to give. Currently we have the greatest need for: Patient Volunteers serve as a friend or companion to a patient. Volunteers develop their own schedules along with the patient and or family depending on the volunteers availability. Volunteer hours are determined by the Volunteers availability. Will you help today by volunteering and sharing your time with a senior? Special Project Volunteers can be done with or for patients We need good Listeners who would love to document the patient’s life stories, often as a memoir for family or help with a scrapbook to document life events and as a way to talk about their memories and more, according to your desire and imagination. Solace Hospice is in need of caring and compassionate volunteers to provide friendly visits to our patients. No matter your experience, interests or abilities, there are seniors who would love to have a friendly visitor to talk or just share time with.
