The Atlanta office of Heartland Hospice is currently seeking caring volunteers to support our agency by providing friendly visits, vigil and bereavement support, or administrative assistance. The Atlanta office welcomes compassionate volunteers in the following counties that the agency serves: Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Fayette, Clayton, Henry, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton. Current volunteer opportunities include: * Administrative volunteers perform duties to assist within the office setting such as providing support in organizing, filing, answering calls, and clerical tasks. * Friendly visitor volunteers provide companionship to terminally ill patients as well as respite support for caregivers, and friendly visitors may assist with running errands or other duties to provide relief to the families we serve. * Vigil visitor volunteers provide supportive presence during the expected final hours of life for patients and their support systems. Bereavement volunteers offer supportive outreach to family members during the earliest stages of grief and mourning. The hospice administrative volunteer performs duties to benefit our patients and their families within the office setting. This role involves tasks such as filing, organizing, creating informational packets, answering phone calls and/or other tasks related to office assistance. This volunteer role offers flexible hours Monday through Friday and we will be happy to work with your schedule. If you have previous office or clerical experience, or if you have an interest in gaining new experience with clerical work, then this will be an excellent opportunity for you. Our office serves the following areas and we welcome compassionate volunteers in the following counties: Fulton County, DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, Fayette County, Clayton County, Henry County, Rockdale County, Newton County, and Walton County. The administrative volunteer opportunity is in-office only and does not involve travel to different locations such as patient homes. The Atlanta office of Heartland Hospice is currently seeking volunteers to support our patients and their families through friendly visits in the North Fulton cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, and other surrounding areas. The hospice friendly visitor volunteer provides companionship for terminally ill patients, respite support for caregivers, and/or assists with errands or other duties to provide relief to the families we serve. Friendly visitors that spend time with patients who call assisted living or nursing facilities home offer the invaluable and irreplaceable gift of time which is shared through each visit providing conversation to the patient, telling stories, playing music, or engaging in other activities that the patient might enjoy. This volunteer role offers flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends based on the needs of our patients and their support systems. We will be happy to work with your schedule.
