The Atlanta office of Heartland Hospice is currently seeking volunteers to support our patients and their families through friendly visits in the North Fulton cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, and other surrounding areas.
The hospice friendly visitor volunteer provides companionship for terminally ill patients, respite support for caregivers, and/or assists with errands or other duties to provide relief to the families we serve.
Friendly visitors that spend time with patients who call assisted living or nursing facilities home offer the invaluable and irreplaceable gift of time which is shared through each visit providing conversation to the patient, telling stories, playing music, or engaging in other activities that the patient might enjoy.
This volunteer role offers flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends based on the needs of our patients and their support systems. We will be happy to work with your schedule. We welcome all Retirees, Students, Veterans, and other interested groups are welcome to volunteer with us!!!

Hospice volunteers are oriented to the hospice program as well as the hospice philosophy and goals of caring to ensure that they have the skills needed to assist patients and their families. Volunteers offer support, companionship, and practical compassionate help whether it is running errands, staying with the patient so family members can take a break, reading to a patient, or holding someone’s hand.
