Mission Statement

The Humane Society of McCormick County was formed to help McCormick County, South Carolina residents and animals. The HSMC is comprised entirely of volunteers whose mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, to provide shelter and care for lost and unwanted animals, to implement educational programs and services, to place animals in humane environments, and to promote responsible pet ownership including spay and neuter. The HSMC is always looking for dedicated, animal-loving volunteers.

Description

The Humane Society of McCormick County is an all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue. We are the sole source of animal care because McCormick County has no city or county-run shelter. We are completely depend upon donations, fundraising, and private grants to support our efforts to save the lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community. We are a non-profit so donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. We offer a low-cost or no-cost spay and neuter program for any dog or cat in our county in an effort to humanely reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats.

We fostered a dog in our home for almost a year. The Humane Society provided all of the supplies and medical attention that was needed. It was very rewarding to see this dog grow into a wonderful pet and then find her forever home. I would definitely foster another dog for the Humane Society of McCormick County.
