The Humane Society of McCormick County needs families that will include a foster pet into their family home. Animals that are fostered are better prepared when adopted and are often adopted sooner. It also allows us to help more animals because of our limited space. We will help new families with questions that they might have while they are caring for their new foster pet. We provide medical assistance, food, crates and any other needs for you to care for the pet while you are fostering. We have a need for foster homes for puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats.
An added bonus is the love you receive from an animal while they are living with you and knowing that you made their transition into a home easier for them.
The Humane Society of McCormick County was formed to help McCormick County, South Carolina residents and animals. The HSMC is comprised entirely of volunteers whose mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, to provide shelter and care for lost and unwanted animals, to implement educational programs and services, to place animals in humane environments, and to promote responsible pet ownership including spay and neuter. The HSMC is always looking for dedicated, animal-loving volunteers.
The Humane Society of McCormick County is an all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue. We are the sole source of animal care because McCormick County has no cit or county-run shelter, or veterinarians. We are completely depend upon local donations and private grants to support our efforts to save the lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community. We are a non-profit so donations are tax-deductible. We offer a low-cost or no-cost spay and neuter program for any dog or cat in our county in an effort to humanely reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats.
