Phoenix Symphony Hall is home to The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, and Ballet Arizona. The historic Orpheum Theatre hosts a variety of entertainment and educational programs including stage productions, concerts, dance, comedy shows, and silent and classic films. We are currently seeking positive, high energy, community service-focused volunteer theater ushers who have a passion for the performing arts and are willing to volunteer your time. Do you enjoy working with the public and people who share your passion? The Phoenix Convention Center and Venues owns and operates both of these world-class performing arts venues. Ushers are engaged as hosts, and are the most visible reflection of service during events. Duties include: Greeting attendees Handing out programs Escorting patrons to their seats Providing directions and answering inquiries. Ushers are relied upon to be courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to the clients and patrons. In this manner, volunteer ushers are in a position to positively impact the experience of patrons of the arts in Phoenix, thereby benefiting those who utilize these facilities. After you've completed our in-person training, you'll be eligible to usher any event, at either venue, and you get to see the performances you work! Do you have a passion for the performing arts? Are you interested in volunteering your time to support the performing arts in Phoenix? Do you enjoy working with the public and people who share your passion? The Phoenix Convention Center Theatrical Volunteer Program offers volunteer usher opportunities at Phoenix Symphony Hall and the historic Orpheum Theatre. Volunteer ushers provide guests with a memorable experience by greeting guests, handing out programs, helping guests to their seats, and providing information and directions. Opportunities are available year-round, with a concentration between mid-September and the end of May each year. Most performances are evenings and weekends. We ask our volunteers to contribute their time and energy for 20 performances per theatrical season (an average of two per month). Schedule is flexible and you choose the events you wish to volunteer for. After you've completed our in-person training, you'll be eligible to usher any event, at either venue, and you get to see the performances you work!
