Be part of a community of caring, compassionate adults who choose to devote their time to students by offering support, guidance, and encouragement. One hour per week provides students with the tools to thrive! As a mentor with Take Stock in Children, you will join a group of diverse volunteers who have worked tirelessly since 1995 to change the lives of Florida students by providing scholarships, mentors, and hope. Volunteers will meet regularly, usually once per week, with their assigned students, either virtually, in person, or a combination of both. Students also pledge to remain drug and crime free on their way to achieving a high school diploma. We are especially in need of members of the LGBTQ+ community to serve as mentors for students. If you are an energetic senior 55 or older looking to volunteer in your community, please consider joining RSVP! The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is the largest volunteer organization for seniors in the US. As a member of AmeriCorps Seniors, you will be able to use the skills and knowledge you have acquired over the years to serve your community and have an positive impact on your neighbors in need. Volunteers for Community Impact has been helping match seniors with the perfect volunteer opportunities for over 40 years in Central Florida. We are federally funded through AmeriCorps, so our services are 100% free! We also provide other support and benefits to our volunteers.
