The American Red Cross of Central Maryland (Baltimore City, Carroll, and Harford Counties), seeks adult volunteers to join our team as Recruitment Volunteers (16+ years of age)to help identify talent to grow our Red Cross team. We’re looking for creative, outgoing, and solution-orientated individuals with a desire to develop their leadership, communications, and critical thinking skills while supporting the Red Cross mission. You will have the opportunity to grow in non-profit Human Resources experience and learn targeted recruitment of a diverse and talented volunteer workforce. As a recruitment volunteer, you will: · Recruit volunteers within a specific line of service and/or department · Meet regularly with Volunteer Management team to determine targeted recruitment needs · Assist in the development and implementation of volunteer recruitment activities · Utilize social media, flyers, and online sites, attend community events, fair and festivals, support information tables, and give presentations (virtually or in-person) to promote open volunteer opportunities · Utilize email, phone, video conferencing, and in-person communication to identify and develop community partners for recruiting Qualifications: · Demonstrated ability to treat people with respect under all circumstances and instill trust in others · Good computer skills including use of internet search tools, intranet and Microsoft Office Suite · Awareness and appreciation for processes in recruitment, sales, marketing and/or advertising · Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs and the importance of volunteerism · Successfully clear a standard background check Time Commitment: · Monthly requirement of a minimum of 5 -10 hours · Completion of 1+ recruitment activity/activities per week · Engagement can be evenings and weekends, some weekday availability needed to meet with Recruitment Team · Commitment of a minimum of one year. Red Cross vehicles are essential for disaster response operations, branding, and other mission-related activities. The American Red Cross serving Delmarva Chapter is seeking a volunteer to assist with vehicle and fleet maintenance at the Wilmington office. Responsibilities include: Track vehicle mileage Schedule vehicles Track vehicle maintenance Track vehicle registrations, emissions Take vehicles for maintenance/emissions Work with maintenance shop for repairs Inspect vehicles weekly/monthly Manage vehicle keys The schedule is flexible, and only requires 2-3 hours per week. Purpose: To participate in all DAT program support and capacity building activities necessary to ensure effective service delivery during a DAT response. Location(s): Montgomery County Responsibilities: Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. This position is responsible for the tasks involved in the Disaster Action Team program including: Supporting the annual goals, Regional Disaster Officer (RDO) objectives, and regional/chapter plan for DAT services through participation in meetings, projects, and local response activities. Completes all required training and maintains current training standard as DAT program requirements change. Attends regular team meetings and training as required by the region/territory. Completes assigned projects and local response activities according to the needs of the DAT program. (Preparing vehicles, response materials, administrative support of the DAT program and other tasks assigned by the DAT Leader.) Time Commitment: Hours are flexible. Volunteers may commit to fixed duty days or may be "on call." Typical disaster responses require 4-6 hours. Volunteers would need to be available at least 3-4 days per month. Purpose: Assist with research and administrative projects that help fulfill fundraising needs and annual fundraising goal. Purpose The Red Cross Club Coordinator serves as the Red Cross Unit Contact for the Club and is the person ensuring the link between the Club and the Chapter/Station/Blood Region in which the Club resides. Red Cross Club Coordinator supports and guides the Red Cross Club in its service engagement as well as informs the Club about opportunities that lay at the local Red Cross unit level.
