Traditions Health is looking for volunteers like you to donate their time and talent to make a difference in the lives of our hospice patients in the Jefferson area. Volunteers provide support and companionship to our patients by listening to their stories, holding their hand, helping with a favorite activity, or many others ways. These activities remind our patients how important they are and how pertinent they are to society as well as offer comfort and dignity. A volunteer can also allow for a care giver to have time to run to the grocery store, take a walk, or go to a doctor's appointment. No special skills required except for a willing heart and helping hands. Free training which covers general information about hospice and how it works, volunteer do's and don'ts, and safety information. Requirements for volunteers include background check, TB test, brief physical, and drug screen. We are happy to cover the cost of these requirements. We are happy to work with your schedule and will keep you as close to home as possible. Traditions health is looking for Veteran's to spend time with our Veteran's and brighten their day and offer companionship and support. Veteran volunteers can also help with Veteran pinning ceremonies which are very moing especially to family members. Vateran volunteers can also help with out We Honor Veterans program. The fist step is doing orientation which covers what hospice is and how it works, what volunteers can and can't do, specific things related to our veteran's program, and some safety things as well. Then there will be a background check which includes a fingerprint scan and quick health screen, tb test and, drug screen. We pay for both the background check and drug screen.
