Life is richer and fuller when we spend some time helping others. At Good Shepherd Hospice we are looking for volunteers to donate a few hours a month performing acts of kindness for patients and their families. We know that some of the things our patients value most are thoughtful gifts of time, attention and your presence. Can you bake a cake? Use a computer? Do office work? Sit quietly and listen? Read a book, write a note, or deliver supplies? These are just a few of the things that our volunteers do at Good Shepherd Hospice. We provide free training and continuing support. Looking for wonderful veterans to visit with our wonderful veteran patients! Many times we get requests from our veteran patients that they would like to talk, listen, be with another veteran, especially at the end of their lives. Hearing from another Vet and being able to share their experiences with them is invaluable to many of our patients. We do "honor and thank" our vets with an appreciation certificate and other goodies as well as participate in the "We Honor Veterans" program. If you like to talk, share, laugh and support other veterans on their final mission, this is the opportunity for you.

We are looking for wonderful quilters/sewers to help with our Memorial Quilt! Each year GSH honors our patients and families with a beautiful quilt and Memorial Service recognizing those patients who passed away the previous year. Currently a wonderful volunteer makes the quilts and we are honored to display them in each of our offices, Newton, Wichita and Wellington. As our patient census increases, we are needing help with our 3 quilts. We are looking for talented people to help in this important service. If you can quilt, sew, iron or have a desire to volunteer, we are looking for you.
