About Us The Regional Access Project Foundation (RAP) Inc. incorporated in 1992 as a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation in order to address unmet needs in health, mental health and juvenile intervention for residents of eastern Riverside County through grants and technical assistance to not for profit service providers. Funding of the RAP Foundation is primarily through unique cooperative agreements between the RAP Foundation and the County of Riverside; and, between the County of Riverside and the City of Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency. Our Mission: To provide funding, oversight, technical assistance, and guidance to nonprofit, community-based organizations or other collaborative groups, which serve the populations of eastern Riverside County in the areas of health, mental health, and juvenile intervention. Regional Access Project Foundation is currently looking for a volunteer receptionist. Duties include: Answer phones Greet people Distribute RAP’s and tenants' mail Open RAP’s mail Type documents as needed Help set up for meetings Inventory of kitchen supplies, restock kitchen with utensils as needed Schedule: Mondays 8:30 or 9 am - 5 pm Tuesdays 8:30 am - 12 pm Thursdays 8:30 am - 12 pm

COPS: Volunteers are extensively trained citizens that patrol the City of Rancho Mirage in specially marked vehicles and are a highly visible presence in the community. Their primary role is to be the "eyes and ears" of the community as they assist and support the City of Rancho Mirage Police Department. These volunteers also work under the direction of the City's staff liaison. Duties: Patrols the community Assist the Rancho Mirage Police and the Riverside County Sheriff's Departments Assist the City of Rancho Mirage Code Compliance with reporting property maintenance issues and abandoned vehicles Graffiti Watch Assist stranded motorists Provide traffic control assistance for special events, crime scenes and traffic accidents. CITIZEN ON PATROL VOLUNTEERS are NOT authorized to take enforcement actions, carry weapons, rather are encouraged to avoid confrontations and physical contact. The COPS primary duty is to observe and report. COPS prides itself on the established bond with local law enforcement and ambassadors of good will by being a partner in preserving the quality of life for the community. FRIENDLY CALLERS- "Taking the fear out of being alone" Regular telephone contacts to an isolated senior or disabled adult helps to reassure their well-being and gives a feeling of security. The Cathedral City Senior Center is now offering "Are You Ok?" providing peace of mind to isolated seniors and their families with regular scheduled telephone wellness calls. How does it work? Seniors will receive an automated call at a schedule time with a simple message. They simply say "yes" and hang out. If they do not answer, the computer will try again. If there is STILL NO response, volunteers will try to reach the senior personally. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Bilingual volunteers needed! Flexible schedules and hours! ( We work around your schedule!)
