Residents of the Rohr Home would love to have volunteers come to decorate their doors, rooms, hallways, the lobby, and the porch. Decorations are supplied by the Rohr Home and upon approval you may donate your own if you like. Decorations may be for holidays or generic seasonal decorations. Nestled among the azaleas and moss-laden oak trees of Bartow is the Rohr Home; a licensed, 60-bed skilled nursing home facility that specializes in long-term and sub-acute care. A 5-star rated facility, the Rohr Home offers both short and long term care and is consistently ranked by Medicare.gov as one of the top Nursing Homes in Florida. Main Assignment Responsibilities Doors/Rooms: Speak with residents about how they would like to see their space decorated based on their celebrations/beliefs Hallways/Lobby/Porch: Help staff decorate these areas in festive spirit Time/Availability The Rohr Home is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm Scheduling will be discussed at the time of the interview Attire/PPE All clothing worn should be neat and clean, free of wrinkles, holes, and tears, and should not contain profanity, obscene imagery or otherwise convey an inappropriate message. The Bartow History Center is looking to bring on students seeking an internship focusing on Collections Management duties with the museum Curator. What was once the Polk County Courthouse now serves as the History Center and houses the historical museum and library. The museum serves Polk's community through educational programs, special events, and volunteer opportunities. The museum's exhibits and programs continue to grow and change and there is always something new to discover. The museum collection includes natural and cultural objects related to Polk and the greater Central Florida area that represent our history from pre-Columbian to present day eras. The artifacts on display at the museum represent individuals, cultural groups, and events significant to the region. Interns are provided with a diverse combination of experience opportunities related to the specialties of Environmental Education and serving as a Field Technician. Polk's Nature Discovery Center is located at the Circle B Bar Reserve. The free discovery center has exhibits specifically designed to engage and excite visitors of all ages. It is a place to explore Polk's water, wildlife, and wilderness and gain a better understanding of the delicate ecosystems of Central Florida. There are numerous hands-on indoor and outdoor exhibits, picnic facilities, and nature trails, making it a great choice for families.
