Big Brothers and Big Sisters is matching up volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles) to spend 8 hour more hours monthly together based on interests, location, and personality. Bigs will spend one-on-one quality time with the Littles to promote social skills, relationships, and development through experiences and relationship building. Bigs are prohibited from the use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs in the presence of the Little and must not live with someone who is involved with any illegal activity or drug use. Additionally, overnight stays and over-involvement are not allowed.
Bigs will spend time with a child doing free or low-cost activities of mutual interest while fostering creative thinking, social relationship building, and experience. Bigs will need to confer monthly with an assigned staff member to ensure the match is productive, safe, and positive.
