This role will work closely with the Development Manager and Executive Director to determine which rescue stories we want to share with our sponsors and supporters. They will take the information gathered by the Content Collection Volunteer and write stories and updates on foster animals to share in marketing campaigns, the newsletter and on social media. This is a remote role and can be done from your home, but does require you to have excellent writing skills, good oral and written communication skills and ability to meet deadlines. We do not allow the use of AI technology to be used in this role. Volunteer commitment will vary depending on the number of stories we are following and if we have multiple volunteers helping in this role.

Safe Hands is looking to build a team of volunteers that enjoy attending various community events around the Twin Cities. We are asked to participate in a number of events from parades to community days to art fairs and need a team of volunteers who enjoy attending these events, sharing information about Safe Hands and getting our mission out further. If you are an outgoing person who is willing to attend events, under the direction of our Community Event Lead, please apply to volunteer now. These are not adoption events, but occasionally we will have foster animals at the events so you may get to interact with them as well. You may be responsible for helping set-up/teardown the event, that may include a pop-up tent, table and x-pens. During the event you may be asked to mind animals, run a game, talk to people about Safe Hands mission or various other duties as directed by the event lead.

We are in need of a HQ Support Lead to m anage and oversee all aspects of headquarters support. Ensure all responsibilities are carried out by HQ Support Volunteers as expected via Safe Hands Rescue policies and procedures and serve as point of contact if questions. Manage the volunteer schedule, recruit, train, and coach department volunteers. Perform and fill in volunteer roles as needed. Basic computer skills, multi-tasker and being organized are key attributes this volunteer needs to be successful. Time commitment is 2 hours per week on-call to answer questions and 2-4 hours at HQ to complete special projects and other responsibilities. Hours may increase when training new volunteers.

This role will coordinate volunteers and fosters to help once an event is confirmed. Working in coordination with the Volunteer Services Program Manager they will be responsible for all aspects of onsite event details and ensure the business/venue is kept apprised of all necessary details. As they learn the role, they will be able to help determine which community events we participate in. Must have good communication skills, both oral and written, a willingness to work as part of a team, passion for animal welfare and ability to meet deadlines.

This volunteer role needs to be able to quickly and accurately prepare standard intake medications for dogs and cats arriving on transport every other Saturday. There are charts with dosage information to assist with this role. High attention to detail and accuracy is required to perform this role. Medical background is not required, but is a bonus. You must have access to email in order to receive an Excel file with animal and medication details. This role is also responsible for completing our "Foster Care Sheet" which details the animal information, medications being sent home, medications received in KY and other relevant information the foster will need to know. Time commitment is 2-4 hours on Saturday morning, every other intake (once every 4 weeks). Or as needed to help cover shifts. Training is provided by volunteers currently handling the role and also mentoring from the COO and Volunteer Services Program Manager.
