There are charts with dosage information to assist with this role. High attention to detail and accuracy is required to perform this role. Medical background is not required, but is a bonus. You must have access to email in order to receive an Excel file with animal and medication details. This role is also responsible for completing our "Foster Care Sheet" which details the animal information, medications being sent home, medications received in KY and other relevant information the foster will need to know.

Time commitment is 2-4 hours on Saturday morning, every other intake (once every 4 weeks). Or as needed to help cover shifts.

Training is provided by volunteers currently handling the role and also mentoring from the COO and Volunteer Services Program Manager.

About Safe Hands Rescue

3732 10th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55407, US

Mission Statement

To save and improve the lives of companion animals by engaging communities and connecting people, resources and knowledge.

Safe Hands Rescue was founded in 2006 and has continued to grow and save more dogs and cats every year. We focus on saving animals from SE Kentucky, an impoverished area with great need. With underfunded shelters and lack of access to affordable spay and neuter programs. We partner with several shelters in the Chicago area and Twin Cities to save as many animals as possible. We often take animals that other groups pass up due to health issues. Our commitment is to help every adoptable animal in the shelter make it out alive.
