Are you looking to befriend and work closely with a person in need? If so, becoming an Ally might be the perfect opportunity for you. At Circles, we value friendship and community and recognize that our Circle Leaders (the participants working to leave poverty behind) need a friend and constant support system. Fighting poverty is not easy to do alone, Circle Leaders need a friend and ally. They need someone like you! As an Ally, you will be there to support, encourage, and work with our Circle Leaders as they work on their goals towards financial stability. You might be thinking, "this sounds great, but what if I don’t have the proper training and background?" Well, that is perfectly okay! At Circles, we provide our volunteers with training before stepping into their roles. Our Allies will specifically receive education on being culturally sensitive and training from Bridges Out of Poverty. This education is to give our Allies a toolbox of skills to use in future relationships with our families. As an Ally we ask that you commit to attending weekly meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, be an ally for at least 6 months, pass a background check, attend training and most importantly, build and strengthen relationships in the Circles Community. Come join us Today and be a Circles Ally!

If a full-time volunteer position doesn’t work with your schedule right now, consider donating and serving a meal. At each of our weekly Circles meetings it’s essential for us all (Circle Leaders, Children, Allies, Volunteers,) to come together for a meal. Dinner is where friendship and community is built. Details: Groups bringing dinner to a weekly meeting should be prepared offsite with food to feed 60-75 people. The meal should include a main course, healthy side, and dessert. We do have a few dietary needs that should be kept in mind when planning what to bring, when possible. (vegetarian/gluten free) It's very helpful if sponsors can also provide disposable plates, cups, utensils, and water to drink. We ask that the food be pre-made and brought ready to serve at our meeting location in South Salt Lake We invite groups to stay and serve dinner and sit down and enjoy the meal with us. After dinner is complete we invite groups to help us pack up any leftover food and clean up.
