Volunteering with Circles is more than a one-time opportunity. It's more than simply giving a monetary donation or dropping off a clothing donation. When you volunteer at Circles, you get to see the peope you are directly impacting. You get to hear about their life and watch them overcome the barriers they are experiencing. You can watch their kids grow up, celebrate the family's successes, and be a part of change.

Our goal is to help people by providing them with community and opportunities. We empower our individuals and families by calling them Leaders, Circle Leaders. You can support our Circle Leaders by sharing your life-experience, your skills, or simply your time as a listening friend. Most people who are low-income don't have people they can count on. Our research shows that they can count on 0-2 people. How many people are you lucky enough to count on in your life? Shouldn't everyone have that comfort and support network?

You might be thinking, "this sounds great, but what if I don’t have training or the professional background to help someone else?" Well, that is perfectly okay! At Circles, we provide our volunteers with training before stepping into their roles. Our Allies will specifically receive education on being culturally sensitive and training from Bridges Out of Poverty. We give you a toolbox of skills and knowledge to use. You won't be doing it alone either. A Circle Leader gets matched with 2 Allies, our entire Circles community, and we have 2 Coaches that will check in with you and your Circle Leader. The Coaches will do the heavy lifting while you provide the cheerleading and morale support.

Time Requirements

  • We are flexible. Preferably, coming to dinner with our community on the 1st and 3rd Thursday. Dinner is free! We have children's programming if you want to bring your kids. It's great.
  • Sometimes people can't come on both of those Thursdays. We understand you are busy and have a life as well. Just communicate with us and we will work it out. Maybe you can meet with your Leader outside of Circles. Maybe you can have a phone call with them. We just want to make sure the connection with them are still taking place.
  • Passing a background check- paid for by us.
  • Completing online training at your own pace.
  • Sending some text messages to build that relationship with the person you get matched with.

Come join us today and be a Circles Ally!!
