Volunteer Role: Furvivors Horse Rescue Fundraising Committee Member Location: Chester County, PA ; not limited to this area as social platform reach is worldwide Focus: Special Events, Planning, and Implementation of Successful Fundraisers with focus on yearly events generating significant funds Fundraising events for Furvivors aim to create enjoyable and successful experiences throughout the year. Our goal is to inspire individuals to believe in, support, and contribute to the lives of at-risk horses at Furvivors. These events are crucial for generating vital funds to support our mission of horse rescue and sanctuary. As we look to the future, it is essential to grow the organization to new levels to meet the ever-increasing demand for rescue services and to educate the community about the powerful, peaceful connections between horses and humans. Seeking organized and passionate committee members who are dedicated to our mission of horse rescue and rehabilitation. Currently, we have a significant need for securing sponsorships, benefactors, and grant funding. Skills Needed: - Experience in project management, with the ability to lead, delegate, and collaborate with the team - Knowledge of securing large corporate sponsorships, such as from pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and merchandising companies; and understanding what motivates them to support a non-profit animal welfare organization - Familiarity with community giving trends in Chester County, PA, and what inspires individuals to contribute to a non-profit animal welfare rescue - Strong organizational skills with attention to timelines and details - Confidence in asking questions and seeking donations and sponsorships, both monetary and in-kind, for live and silent auction items for our 501(c)(3) fundraisers - Grant writing experience is preferred - Must be a self-starter, work efficiently independently while offering excellent communication skills to the support team

Furvivors Wonderland Horse Rescue & Farm Animal Sanctuary is a nurturing haven dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and uplifting of at-risk horses, while simultaneously extending our compassionate reach to small farm animals in need. Within our welcoming environment, horses may find a lifelong sanctuary as esteemed residents enjoying their well-deserved retirement, or, when circumstances permit, they may be lovingly fostered or adopted into caring homes that offer them a bright future. As a proudly registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we thrive on the heartfelt contributions of an animal-loving community of volunteers and are sustained through the generosity of our donors. At present, we find ourselves amidst a remarkable growth phase; the escalating demand for horse rescue and sanctuary services is surpassing our ability to promptly address this urgent need. In light of this situation, we are actively seeking an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Barn Manager to join our dedicated team. The Assistant Barn Manager position entails a commitment of 4 to 5 days each week, with each shift lasting approximately 2 hours, encompassing both morning and evening duties, which culminates in an estimated total of 10 hours per week. There is the possibility for additional hours, particularly during peak periods, including holidays, which are essential for maintaining our operations. This role will be carried out in-person and as a volunteer, and we kindly request that only those with a sincere commitment to fulfilling this role respond to our call. Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications: - Prior experience working with horses, with a special emphasis on rehabilitation efforts being highly valuable. - A keen attention to detail, complemented by robust organizational skills. - A heartfelt desire to contribute to a mission that is not only rewarding but also transformative. - A valid driver's license and a reliable mode of transportation. - A thorough understanding of farm duties and barn maintenance responsibilities. - The ability to lead fellow volunteers and facilitate informative orientations for newcomers. - A self-sufficient work ethic, marked by the ability to identify necessary tasks and complete them without requiring extensive oversight. - A passion for assisting our organization in achieving its lofty mission and fulfilling our collective goals. Volunteer Opportunity at Furvivors Horse Rescue & Farm Animal Sanctuary Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need? Come volunteer at The Wonderland, home of Furvivors Horse Rescue. By donating your time, you’ll help care for horses and other farm animals who are on the path to healing from abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Your time and dedication will provide these animals with the love, attention, and rehabilitation they need to move toward their next chapter in life. Why We Need Volunteers: Many of our residents have been deprived of the essential human connection they deserve. That’s where volunteers come in-offering compassion, care, and consistent interaction to help these animals rediscover trust and joy. No prior horse experience? No problem! All we ask is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a commitment to understanding the responsibilities of animal care. How You Can Help: Volunteers are essential in many areas: Animal Care: Provide love, light grooming, fill water buckets, feed and help clean stalls. Farm Maintenance: Stack hay, clean tack and equipment, mend fences, light landscaping and maintain a safe, clean, professional property. Tractor tasks available for those experienced in farm machinery. Horse Activities: Walk, exercise, or assist with horse care (for volunteers with prior horse experience). Event Assistance: Support and attend events as a Furvivors ambassador, or work virtually organizing and fundraising for such events. Additional community initiatives available. (See additional posts) Behind the Scenes: Contribute to admin tasks, social media photography, writing thank-you notes, creating fliers, posters and more. Above all, safe and engaging interaction with our animals is our top priority! What We Ask of You: Commitment: A minimum of 2 hours per week in person after orientation and training. Reliability: This is a hands-on role, and we rely on volunteers who are 100% dependable. This position will require commitment, confidentiality and trustworthiness. This position is vital to growing the mission and the growing need of horse rescue and fundraising to support the mission of horse rescue.
