Come volunteer at Furvivors Horse Rescue

Donate your time to help care for the horses and farm animals at the Wonderland. Your time will make a world of difference to the abused, neglected and abandoned souls in rehabilitation at the Wonderland.

There are many things volunteers can do for the animals. We find that a lot of our residents have been shorted the necessary human contact, love and affection they so deserve. This is where our volunteers are so needed.

Help nurture the resident 'Furvivors' to the next chapter of their best life. Be here for them! No horse experience, no problem. A willingness and commitment to learn and understand what caring for horses is all about is necessary.

There is always plenty to do around the farm like stacking hay, filling water buckets, light grooming, cleaning stalls, tack and equipment, walking and exercising horses (for the more horsey experienced) and assisting with events and fundraising. And, a lot of behind the scenes items like social media photography, writing thank you notes, admin tasks, etc., Most importantly, safe, engaging interaction with the animals is most essential.

Our farm volunteers are hands-on. We ask that you be responsible, reliable and 18 years old. We also hope that you are able to commit to a weekly 2-hour shift, after orientation and a training period.

This will be an in person, volunteer position. We will be 100% transparent in asking that only serious people reply with intent to commit to this task. Please be reliable and able to commit to a weekly shift.

Current shifts availalbe:
AM & PM, every day of the week, year

Two ongoing Floater Positions to fill-in for vacations, etc.

Times are flexible

Mission Statement

WE BELIEVE IN SECOND CHANCES We rescue horses in unsafe, neglect, abandoned and at-risk situations. It is our wish that they never get on "that truck". Whether it’s rehab, training, medication or even humane euthanization, we are accepting the challenge. Our mission is to aid these FURvivors so they can have a second chance at a better life, or a first chance at the life they never had in the first place.

Description

Furvivors opens the barnyard to all animals in need, in turn educating humans through their stories. Animals offer a compassionate approach to healing that no other treatment can offer. We offer services to area veterans, troops, organizations, students and families in need of therapeutic recreation services with horses and farm animals.
