Position Overview: Please note this is an unpaid Volunteering position. Translation Commons is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Community Relations Manager to foster relationships, engage with stakeholders, and build a vibrant and supportive community around our mission of promoting linguistic diversity. This role will play a key part in strengthening connections with our global network of translators, linguists, educators, and language enthusiasts. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for community building, and a commitment to inclusivity and collaboration. You will collaborate with the leadership, product, website, and events team. Key Responsibilities: Community Engagement: Cultivate relationships with Translation Commons' community members, including translators, linguists, educators, students, and language enthusiasts. Engage with community members through online forums, social media channels, blog posts, blog comments, and other communication platforms to foster dialogue, share resources, and promote collaboration. Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders to expand Translation Commons' reach and impact. Collaborate with external partners on joint initiatives, projects, and events that align with Translation Commons' mission and goals. Content Creation and Communication: Develop engaging content, including blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates, to keep the community informed and engaged. Monitor social media channels and online forums to respond to inquiries, address concerns, and facilitate conversations within the community. Feedback Management: Work with leadership, product, and website teams at Translation Commons' programs, services, and initiatives to inform continuous improvement efforts. Act as a liaison between the community and the Translation Commons internal team, conveying feedback, suggestions, and concerns to relevant stakeholders. Qualifications:. 2 years prior experience in community management, social media management, or related fields preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Passion for languages, cultural diversity, and global communication, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and collaboration preferred. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with a remote team. Translation Commons is looking for an Event Coordinator to facilitate hosting of online Zoom/Virtual Events as part of our Events and Social Media team. If you are passionate about the language industry, Online events, Youtube streaming, Webinars or like hosting meetings then please reach out to us. Here is a brief role description of what we are looking for :- Ensuring smooth operation of the Online webinar via Zoom on the Event day ; ensuring all participants are engaged in the virtual event Setting up the Zoom environment ahead of the Event according to security protocol Sharing PC or laptop screen throughout the duration of the meeting (minimum 4 hours hosting time) Supporting presenters with slides, videos, and other assets along with other Event team members Managing any post meeting assets (Zoom recordings, chat file, etc) Supporting attendees with any troubleshooting (mute /unmute, camera setup, admit, etc.) On the day of the event the host should be available from 6:30 am PST to 11:30 am PST hours Available for any pre-scheduled dry-run sessions before the actual Event as and when planned.

Here is a brief role description of what we are looking for : Liaise between internal teams, marketing, social media team, content owners, advisors and webteam to curate content and edit requests Incorporate images, videos, and typeface for consistent branding and mapping it to writing-content style guidelines Check for copyright, accessibility issues, content accuracy ( misspelling, grammatical errors, image re-use, image cropping, audio, video ) Work closely with marketing & graphics team to ensure high quality imagery free of copyright and ensuring owners retain copyright permissions Review content with content owners, advisors to ensure consistency, integrity and distribute content per posting guidelines Check videos, multimedia / streaming content for closed-captions, subtitling, translations to different languages using internal industry standard tools Understand guidelines set by different social media platforms, blogs for content upload, content creation and downloads or cross-linking Optimize keywords and coordinate with other teams to create engaging text, image, video content to increase web presence.
