Gentiva Hospice is looking for those who are Veteran affiliated. We have an opportunity for YOU to connect and provide a safe space for fellow veterans and to foster a sense of community. Veteran patients who live in facility settings may not have the opportunity to connect with their fellow vets at their American Legion's. Gentiva Hospice wants to bring the community to them at their facility. Please help us recognize those that have allowed us the freedom that we enjoy today. Many of our patients have served in Vietnam, Korea or WWII and would like to share their stories with other service members that understand. Some of these heroes like to have ongoing visits as well. Let this be YOU! We will work with your schedule.

Gentiva Hospice boasts a talented, collaborative team of volunteers ready to help patients/families continue their story. The services the "afterword" Team provide are always complimentary. Examples of how the team can help patients/families author MORE of their story include: Creating a special, lasting gift for family (e.g., a framed photo, artwork, etc.) Documenting memories in booklet form Digitizing some photos and creating an album for family Assisting family members in writing memorial tributes (i.e., obituary and eulogies) And more. Gentiva Hospice is looking for Personal Pampering Volunteers to give manicures, pedicures, set and style hair, give hand massages, etc. Aside from physical health, our staff focuses on the emotional and social health of each patient to enhance their well-being, assisting with tasks that make them complete as an individual. Personal Pampering Volunteers get to know each patient as an individual and help them enjoy a high degree of social interaction. Our team helps to enhance the overall well-being of our patients through boosting their confidence, reducing stress, and helping them maintain a sense of independence. Have you ever wondered what all goes on inside the office of a Hospice agency? Have you been interested in working in the hospice industry, but in a Non-Clinical space? Do you have some downtime and want to do something meaningful? We are looking for detail-oriented and personable individuals to assist with receptionist tasks. This is a critical role to help support our office staff in being able to be more available for patient and staff care needs. You would be an asset in this role if you: -enjoy answering phones -are comfortable making phone calls to patients/family members -can roll with the punches- some days the phones won't stop ringing and other days you may have time to catch up on your reading -willing to work on projects that will enhance the office structure within our team and also the patients and families we work with You will have a front row seat to provide insight, support, and perspective to the many complex scenarios that the Hospice Office deals with.
