We work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The working hours would be flexible for the grant writer and based off grant availability. An important part of this volunteer role would include the following tasks that you would handle. Research prospective grant-makers, including charitable giving history, Form 990s, and grant guidelines. Draft grant proposals, LOIs and additional materials. Assist with writing final proposals, impact reports and preparing stewardship materials. Help brainstorm creative and strategic ways to connect our mission to a foundation's priorities. Compile internal data on service delivery by utilizing RC View to create a map of Red Cross impact within a donor’s community. Interview local volunteers and clients to capture stories and quotes of mission delivery that can be used in proposals. Compile and archive completed grants per grant management protocol and audit compliance. Create and maintain a grant calendar to track proposal and report deadlines. Attend donor visits where appropriate to share mission moments. We don't look at the time spent as hours or shifts, but doing something we love! Our personal responsibility must come first! We ask that everyone one is in attendance to the weekly meeting, which will be discussed to ensure the meeting is held at a time when we can all attend. Our volunteers are not locked into any amount of time, due to the severity of our work. At any time, a person feels they cannot continue to volunteer, we respectfully understand that.
