Seeking those who want to visit with adults who are lonely and want some companionship. You would visit patient in private home or a facility (where ever they are residing). Casual dress code (still professional) Once you return the application, you and I would meet for coffee or a cold beverage to have an introduction. I am guessing you are wanting to visit for the opportunity to be a companion, it is very important that we offer you a chance to make a good connection. If you have goals as well, we can help to accomplish those goals. We will then have a meeting with the patient to make sure that both you and patient are comfortable with the visits (some families would like a phone call after the visit to inform on how patient responded to visit, if you are visiting in a facility).

Visit when it works with your schedule, have fun with the patients, bring smiles to their faces. Patients get lonely and families at home and staff at the facilities are not always able to spend quality time with the patients. This opportunity allows you to spend time to help them organize their pictures, play cars, build puzzles, work with those who want to have visitors. Some patients want to go outside, some play Bingo or would like to join activites in the common area but no one will help them get there. You can make the difference in someone's day. We can offer visits and once they become comfortable with your visits, you can make progress to do more things. Trust is a valuable relationship builder. We also sign off for school credit hours and can write evaluations for you, if needed. Volunteer work means a lot for job and academic impressions. Gain personal experience in working with others and building relationships.

Caring individuals that want to share time with senior patients that need companionship and friendship. Some would like you to read a book, watch TV, spend some time talking to someone new, learning new things, playing games, making a puzzle, so many ideas can be fun. Our time is valuable to others, and it is to ourselves as well. Sometimes people are isolated and just need someone that will visit and don't want anything other than friendship. We are talking about an hour a week or sometimes longer, regular weekly visits and recording of time spent with patients. I try to schedule your patient visit close to your home for convenience. Getting involved in your own community. I would welcome the chance to meet you and tell you about our program and how you could make a difference on our team. I can send you an application, meet for an interview, send Orientation and then meet again for coffee or soda to recap all that you have reviewed and prepare you for a visit. We do pay for you to get a TB test, drug and background screening, but our company pays. I can also sign forms for school or work for your credits.

We want volunteers that can talk to patients, help play games, help with various things, creativity is a good thing, and being able to read as well. Not all patients are at the same level of ability, but a lot of them a just bored. Our goal is to have you visit 1x a week for an hour or so. If your relationship is building with that patient, we can add more time. But we would like at least 2-4 visits a month. You will record all your visits on an electronically scanned document and return to me via email. This is a nice facility some patients are in memory care and others are in need of companionship. We do not require COVID documented vaccinations, but we do practice save practices to help prevent illness.
