Do you have a few hours to spend helping us develop virtual programs for first-time mothers and their babies? Friends of NYC NFP is developing and leading virtual LEAP (Learn, Eat, and Play) programs to do just that. Please complete our volunteer intake form here so that we can review and get back to you: https://tinyurl.com/2nvexspk We are looking for volunteers who can help us with: Showing mothers the importance of interactions with baby Teaching about a rich learning environment in an engaging way Show exercises which will allow babies to explore and learn Utilize early intervention knowledge to help develop programs for moms and babies This opportunity is perfect for students in graduate programs needing experience in group facilitation (i.e., social work, public health, or other clinical fields) Note: Virtual events are held daytimes and typically are 45 minutes to 1 hour long. Typically sessions are hosted between 12-4pm EST.

Interested in teaching a seminar about food as medicine? Friends of Nurse-Family Partnership is looking for a professional with expertise in nutrition to deliver one or more short interactive programs or work as an advisor to our current staff. As part of our Learn, Eat and Play (LEAP) program, we welcome passionate foodies who have an interest in teaching others how to eat yummy foods while being mindful of nutrition (scroll all the way down to read more about LEAP below). The session should be presented in a fun, friendly manner. We host a series of virtual events for first-time moms, parents/families, and their babies (babies all younger than age 2). Our sessions include story-telling, nutrition seminars, financial literacy, arts n' crafts, mindfulness, and so much more. We are seeking volunteers who are interested in helping to create a engaging and welcoming atmosphere even when virtual over Zoom. Volunteers will help with logistics on ZOOM, facilitating, gathering materials, and/or some interaction on Zoom. No specific skills are needed but people with background in early education or those who like helping others would be very desirable. Must be comfortable with online tasks. We are looking for a CPR instructor to teach a one-hour non-certified class to moms and families in the NYC Nurse-Family Partnership! The goal is to share CPR basics for babies and toddlers as well as the fundamentals for preventing choking.
