About FRIENDS OF NEW YORK CITY NURSE FAMILY PARTNERSHIP INC

Location:

1035 FIFTH AVE NO 10B, NEW YORK, NY 10028, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Friends of New York City Nurse-Family Partnership is to improve the lives of babies and their mothers by providing enhanced benefits for the renowned Nurse-Family Partnership program in New York City. The core program is supported by government grants, but additional resources are needed. We work side by side with the New York City staff to bring extra assistance to their clients.

Description

Nurse-Family Partnership is the gold standard for early childhood home-visiting. It provides registered nurses to make regular home visits to first-time, low-income mothers at the time when it makes the most difference: from before a baby's birth until age two. Friends of NYC NFP provides funds to supplement what is available for this renowned program. We raise and provide funds for the educational needs of the mothers, build awareness about the program, and support the program nurses as well. We also create and lead programs for the mothers and their babies where they can learn about such things as nutrition, finance, making toys out of household objects, and much more. These LEAP (Learn, Eat & Play) events also give the moms a chance to socialize with other mothers in the the program.
