Do you want to provide loving care to cats and kittens? There are two main activities that our volunteers provide: 1) loving care by holding, petting, socializing, and playing with the cats and kittens and 2) ensuring that their environment is clean and safe. Volunteer orientation & training is provided in 2-3 on-site sessions. Partnering with a seasoned volunteer is part of this training. We need ADULT VOLUNTEERS, AGE 18 AND OLDER to socialize with the cats and kittens by touch and play which is essential to maximize their development and ensure they have every opportunity to lead a well-adjusted life. There are also cats/kittens that need particular care due to recent surgery or other medical conditions. Cleaning duties include scooping kitty litter pans, cleaning cages, cleaning the adoption area, and laundering bedding and towels. Please complete and submit a volunteer application, https://www.peterzippifund.org/volunteering/. As a small rescue, we operate our volunteer program with volunteers signing up for shifts (mostly 2h blocks) ahead of time, and committing to coming in for the same shift on the same day each week (so at least one 2h shift a week). We are open 6am-6:45pm during the week, and 8am-4pm on Saturday, and 8am-6pm on Sunday.
