FUND RAISING MANAGER

The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund (PZF) was established in 1977 and is a non-profit 501(3)(c) rescue and adoption cat shelter located in Hermosa Beach, CA. We are a coalition partner with No Kill Los Angelos and a Best Friends network partner. PZF receives no government funding and is supported by volunteers and fund-raising efforts. We are looking for a Fundraising Volunteer Manager to spearhead fund raising. If you have experience in fundraising, please contact us.

This volunteer position can be performed virtually but may require attendance at some events. Tasks will include but are not limited to reaching out to sponsors and donors, maintaining a donor database, accurately describing PZF’s mission to the community, event planning in coordination with the President and Social Media Manager, and planning and managing fresh marketing efforts. This position does not require direct contact with the cats, but all volunteers are encouraged to visit the cats and kittens; they are truly inspirational to us all!

A list of expected activities includes the following:

  • Annual Print Newsletter
  • Annual Open House or Alternate Event (always early November)
    • This would include everything from organizing the event to managing volunteers in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager.
  • Quarterly Digital Newsletter
  • Quarterly Facebook Fundraiser Campaign in collaboration with the Social Media Manager.
  • Annual Giving Tuesday Strategy
    • Assisting with creation of Social Media content.
  • Grant Writing
  • Donor Development
    • Thank you cards
    • Writing letters to large donors.
  • Maintain Donor Database (including entering offline donations for proper tracking of fundraising activities.)

Mission Statement

Network to end homeless pets through the intake and safe placement of cats and kittens and the provision of financial aid to community members for spay and neuter of any companion animal species.

Description

Peter Zippi Memorial Fund is an organization committed to making a difference in the lives of animals. We were founded in memory of Peter Zippi, a beloved animal lover who had a profound impact on the community. Established in 1977, our organization began with a small group of passionate individuals dedicated to honoring Peter's memory and his unwavering love for animals.

At Peter Zippi Memorial Fund we focus on the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned and homeless cats in addition to providing financial assistance through monthly spay-neuter events and our spay-neuter voucher program. We strive to reduce the stray cat population by promoting responsible pet ownership, and advocating for affordable veterinary services including spay-neuter surgeries.

Over the years, our collective efforts have led to numerous heartwarming success stories. Through tireless dedication and the support of our community, we have rescued and rehomed thousands of cats in addition to facilitating free or more affordable spay-neuter surgeries for thousands of companion animals (mostly cats and dogs). This would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our supporters. Contributions, whether through donations, volunteer work, or advocacy, have been instrumental in bringing about positive change in the lives of animals.
