Would you like to use your language skills in order to create opportunities around the world? Are you interested or already involved in Spanish translation and looking to expand your vocabulary? Apply to become a Kiva Volunteer Spanish Translator! This is an unpaid, remote volunteer position. Kiva’s Review and Translation Program is made up of 400+ volunteers that support Kiva's mission of alleviating poverty by editing, translating, and providing a thorough policy review of borrower loan profiles before they are published to Kiva.org for lenders to fund . Each profile provides a brief overview of the borrower's background and their loan use. This personal component helps connect Kiva borrowers with Kiva lenders. As a Kiva Spanish Translator, your responsibilities would include: Translating borrower loan profiles from Spanish to English while maintaining the Lending Partner's voice Reviewing each loan profile for clarity and adherence to Kiva's policies. Important: Volunteers do not determine borrower creditworthiness. This is done by Lending Partners in coordination with Kiva; volunteers neither approve nor deny loans. If you are proficient and comfortable with written English and can translate from Spanish, find out more and join our group of talented translators by using this link to apply: https://boards.greenhouse.io/rtp/jobs/648976 Please note: If you are interested in volunteering in another language, you may notice that some applications on our website are currently in waitlist status. At the moment, we are recruiting volunteers for Spanish, but we are not currently onboarding for all languages. Please feel free to add your name to the waitlist, and you will be contacted once the onboarding process begins again. Thank you so much for your patience!
