Mission Statement

Longer life means that today's older adults have opportunities unknown to previous generations. Longer life also brings new challenges for both older adults and caregivers. No one understands the new face of aging better than the professionals at Lifespan. Lifespan helps older adults and caregivers take on the challenges and opportunities of longer life. Lifespan is a trusted source of unbiased information, guidance and more than 30 services and advocacy for older adults and caregivers. We also provide training and education for allied professionals and the community. Whether you need information about financing long-term care or guidance about eldercare, assistance handling bill payment and finances, advice about senior housing, help with health insurance options under Medicare, or assistance in an elder abuse situation, count on us to help you take it on. Lifespan is a member of the American Society on Aging and the National Council on Aging.

Description

Lifespan, founded in 1971, has provided service to Rochester area older adults and caregivers for 48 years. The organization has a $10.4 million annual budget and receives support from the government, The United Way of Greater Rochester, numerous foundations, private contributors, and through service fees. Lifespan employs approximately 160 full and part-time, and we assist approximately 39,000 older adults and caregivers a year.
