Description

Since 1988, the family of any hospitalized or ill child receiving treatment at a Boise medical facility has found a home away from home at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House. Families come from across Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Northern Nevada and beyond. The House serves hundreds of families each year that face many challenges with their sick children.

Providing these families with a safe, supportive, welcoming place to stay is the reason the Ronald McDonald House exists. The staff, volunteers and Board of Directors help to meet basic needs and provide more than just the necessities. With the help of all the supporters of the House, families are provided shelter, food, support, and care.

We got to make dinner for the Ronald McDonald house and it was an amazing and fun experience! It only took a little over an hour to help them out and their staff were the absolute kindest people! Can't wait to do it again!

The staff was so accommodating to us! We were able to easily bake treats for families staying at the House, and we also were offered an in-depth tour of the facility. I cannot WAIT to go back!

We cooked dinner at the House last night- and EVERYONE was really very nice! The kitchen is nice and big and clean and they welcome you and then let you do your cooking! We want to come on a monthly type basis if they'll have us back! A GREAT volunteer experience for two adults and three teens. Next time... CHOCOLATE CAKE!

I stayed at the house at the end of 2000 while my premature son was in the NICU. All of the people were so wonderful, and kind. The volunteers made a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner since some of us could not be home with our families (I refused to leave my son). Just a remarkable place in general! I was so blessed to have the help when I needed it most.

My 10 year old son and I made cookies for the residents at the Ronald McDonald House and had a great time! It was a great atmosphere and the staff there made us feel very welcome and appreciated. We will definitely do it again.
